Fan art imagines what Sasha Calle’s Supergirl could look like when she debuts in the upcoming DCEU movie The Flash. Thanks to Melissa Benoist’s portrayal on the CW show, DC’s Supergirl has had a strong presence on television ever since 2015. But the female counterpart to Superman remained notably absent from the DCEU as the cinematic universe underwent its gradual expansion over the last decade.
The lack of a DCEU Supergirl is a situation that’s soon to be remedied however, as it’s been revealed that the character is finally set to arrive in the upcoming movie version of The Flash. Director Andy Muschietti himself just made the announcement of Supergirl’s inclusion in the Flash film while introducing actress Calle as the first Latinx performer to take on the role. Calle’s Supergirl joins Ezra Miller’s Flash and two versions of Batman – one played by Ben Affleck and the other by Michael Keaton – in the ever-growing cast of the Flash movie.
Now that Calle has secured the role of Supergirl in the DCEU, fan artists are hard at work creating their images of what the character might look like in The Flash. Noted creator BossLogic has indeed already put together his take on Calle’s Supergirl, which can be seen in the space below:

Calle of course was somewhat of a surprise choice to play Supergirl, as she is a relative unknown with only the soap opera The Young and the Restless as a major credit. But reportedly executives were impressed with the young actress after seeing both her audition and her chemistry read with Flash actor Ezra Miller. Fans of Benoist’s portrayal of Supergirl in the Arrowverse might be slightly dismayed that the character is being recast for the DCEU, but clearly the representation factor was big for Warner Bros. and DC, hence the decision to go with a Latinx actor in the role.
Given that Supergirl is always portrayed as a blonde, there’s bound to be a lot of discussion about Calle being a brunette and whether her hair color will be changed for her portrayal of the character in The Flash. It also remains to be seen which version of Supergirl will be introduced in the film as it’s expected to draw characters from various areas of the DC multiverse. Indeed it seems entirely possible there could be multiple versions of Supergirl in the film, just as there are already two different versions of Batman. Then again, having multiple Supergirls might in fact diminish the significance of introducing the character, so perhaps that would be a bad move. Whatever happens, it seems The Flash is shaping up to be a wild movie as so many different DC characters are being tossed into the mix, with more big character reveals – and great fan art – sure to come.
