Xbox Game Pass is about to receive a huge influx of titles, as Microsoft announced that twenty Bethesda games will be arriving on the service on March 12. Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media is now complete, giving the company control over some huge video game franchises.
The biggest beneficiaries of Microsoft’s purchase of ZeniMax Media are Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Xbox has already promised that all future Bethesda and id Software titles will come to the game subscription service on day one. This also means that the massive back catalogs of these companies could also come to the service in the future, which will sweeten what is already one of the best deals in gaming.
Microsoft announced during its Bethesda roundtable that twenty games will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on March 12. According to the official Xbox website, these games are Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Dishonored 2, DOOM, DOOM 2, DOOM 3, DOOM 64, DOOM Eternal, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Prey, Rage 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, The Evil Within, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.
Some of these games are already available on Xbox Game Pass, but Microsoft has revealed that 16 of them will now be available across all three Xbox Game Pass platforms (Console, PC, and Android). Morrowind and Oblivion aren’t available as streaming games, The Elder Scrolls Online isn’t available on PC, and Fallout: New Vegas is only available on consoles. All of the other games are available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and on mobile devices through streaming.
Xbox Game Pass has just added some of the best shooters and RPGs ever made to its line-up and few can argue the value of the service. There are still a few notable absentees, like Doom (2016), but that is likely to arrive in time, especially as it has been on Game Pass in the past. Microsoft spent billions of dollars on the ZeniMax and Bethesda deal, with the goal of bringing lots of people to Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Series X/S. This deal might be the thing that helps the Series X/S gain the advantage over the PS5 in this current console war, especially with so many great games coming to the service tomorrow.
